Putting Global Collaboration
at the Heart of Action Research

n the current world environment, there is an even greater need for national and international collaboration to solve today’s challenges. To lead by example, ALARA is collaborating with AUT* in New Zealand, UTS** in Australia and Medici di Makati College in Philippines to present this World Congress.

At ALARA World Congresses, there is an emphasis on interactive conversations and workshops, where presenters/facilitators and participants engage together often producing new ideas arising from the work participants have been doing. These conversations help the learning of both presenters and participants.

The Organising Committee invite those working in Action Learning and Action Research to submit proposals about their work: locally, nationally and internationally. The specific aim at this World Congress, will be to focus on collaborative action. Participants will be encouraged to use the insights co-generated to develop initiatives that help address one or more agreed challenges (global, national, local). These initiatives will help reinforce the learning from the World Congress, and generate collaborative learning, training, research and action to create global change.

  Registration amounts (concessional in round brackets; amounts in Australian dollars):
  All locations = $780 ($615); Two locations $625 ($485)
  Face-to-face two days Auckland; Sydney; Manila = $350; $385; $235 ($265; $290; $120)
  Online per day Auckland; Sydney; Manila = $77; $88; $55 (no concessions)
  Per day face-to-face and half-day online also available
• New Zealand section – Face-to-face and online, Auckland, 18-19 September 2025 - there will be a pay at the restaurant dinner held on 18 September
• Australia section – Face-to-face and online, Sydney, 23-24 September 2025 - there will be a World Congress dinner held on 23 September (register for this dinner as part of the registration process)
• Philippines section - Face-to-face and online, Manila (30 September-1 October)
